A three-day simulation campaign (training) for launch and operations began today at the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt, Germany. From now until launch, training will be conducted using actual operational equipment for various operational cases.
The operation of the EarthCARE satellite will be mainly carried out by ESOC. However, JAXA will also participate in training for several CPR-related operational cases, as those involved with the satellite and each sensor will be at the satellite control desk to support telemetry confirmation, especially immediately after launch and during the initial operations.
Today we had training on how to use operational tools, including an explanation of ESOC equipment.
