Continuing from yesterday, a simulation campaign (training) for launch and operations is being conducted at ESOC (European Space Operations Centre) in Darmstadt, Germany. Starting today, we are rehearsing the movements we will make during LEOP. By the way, LEOP stands for Launch and Early Orbit Phase, which is the period called critical operations in JAXA's missions. During this period, EarthCARE will deploy the solar array paddles and the CPR main reflector.
Today, we checked the operations for about 12 hours from launch to the first shift change, and were able to operate the actual terminals to check simulated satellite data, contact methods, decision-making, and other operations.
