Starting today, full-scale launch site preparations for the launch of the EarthCARE satellite will finally begin.
In order to grasp the situation on-site in a timely manner and smoothly coordinate satellite and CPR operations, a small number of JAXA members have begun staying on-site at Vandenberg Space Center in California, USA.
Today, we went through the entry procedures, took safety training, and checked the clean room where satellite work will be carried out.
Photography is not permitted inside the base, so I cannot show you, but it is a strange feeling to see the satellite facility standing alone on such a vast piece of land.
