An alignment check was conducted today to verify that each of the observation sensors on the EarthCARE satellite was installed as designed.
The photo shows an EarthCARE/CPR alignment check being performed. After the EarthCARE satellite was tested in Europe, it was transported to a launch site in the United States, where we are checking to see if there is any mechanical misalignment in any of the observation sensors. We, the JAXA business trip team, also saw it with our own eyes!
This alignment check confirmed that the measurement results for CPR were good and there were no problems.
