2024.4.27 (Field Report)

Yesterday, April 26th, the final CPR cleaning work before launch was carried out, and the CPR Main Reflector (MREF) was then retracted.
Then today, April 27th, the pyrotechnics were installed with due consideration given to safety.
The pyrotechnic is a gunpowder-activated component that is activated by an electrical signal to release the bolt that holds the MREF in the stowed position.
The general procedure is that the EarthCARE satellite will be launched with the MREF stowed, and then the MREF will be deployed in orbit by releasing the retention bolts via a command from the ground.

We will be closed tomorrow, Sunday, and the final CPR test will be next Monday, April 29th.
