The final CPR test was conducted today, April 29th.
Specifically, final confirmation of the work carried out on April 27th, MLI (multi-layer insulation) related work, and a final visual inspection were carried out.
Because the CPR is located at the very top of the EarthCARE satellite, it is too tall to reach it, so work must be done using a high-altitude work vehicle (known as a cherry picker).
Although the work, which was very burdensome for the workers, has been continuing since last week, this marks the end of all actual work carried out by the CPR alone at the launch site. Thank you very much for your hard work!
CPR is now in its final flight configuration for launch!
The MLIs of all EarthCARE satellites other than the CPR are gradually closing and approaching the state they were in during flight.
From tomorrow onwards, work will mainly be carried out on the EarthCARE satellite's propulsion system (thrusters, etc.).
