2024.5.29 (JAXA Launch Live Report)

Today is the launch day of EarthCARE.

I was in Japan and participated as a performer in the official JAXA live broadcast of the launch of the EarthCARE satellite early in the morning.

ESA also live-streamed the EarthCARE launch on ESA-TV, but JAXA also held a unique live broadcast in which they watched the live footage of the EarthCARE launch streamed by SpaceX together with rocket idol Vtuber Ushi Kuria, who gave an explanation about EarthCARE and watched the satellite launch.

As Ushi Kuria has broadcast numerous Falcon 9 launches on YouTube, she has a deep knowledge of the Falcon 9 rocket and provided a fascinating explanation.
In addition, the interactions with JAXA's mascot EarthCARE-chan were light-hearted and easy for the general public to understand, making for an enjoyable launch broadcast.

I was invited to this broadcast as a satellite commentator, but in reality I was enjoying the coverage from the perspective of a viewer watching the satellite launch.
We are relieved that the EarthCARE satellite was successfully launched into orbit, but we will continue to remain vigilant until regular CPR observations begin, so we will continue to keep a close eye on the situation.

We would like to thank Usuhi Kuria and all the other performers in the live broadcast, everyone who planned and prepared the live stream, and all the viewers who watched the broadcast live and later.
